Pure Imagination Studios has created nineteen 3 minute episodes of the unique world of LEGO® Hidden Side™.
Zac Moncrief, the director for the series, was tasked with bringing the series to fruition. “This exciting, original property created by LEGO was ground-breaking in the way it incorporated the traditional set building along with the use of AR game play. Add to that the exciting shorts we created to develop the characters and the world that accompanied the toys, and you have one of my favorite properties I’ve been a part of in my 20+ years in animation.”
The series follows Jack and Parker, two kids tasked with ridding their home town from a horrible spirit (and her minions), as they try to break into our world from the ‘Hidden Side’. “The show had great villains, wonderful action, and a good blend of comedy. Stylistically we broke away slightly from the traditional LEGO animated style and went for a ‘hand drawn’ look while still retaining the 3D quality.”
PTP was entrusted with the online and grading for these episodes, adding extra details to bring out the characters, the sets and the story; “Milton, our colorist, should add ‘magician’ to his resume”, quips Zac.
All episodes are streaming on YouTube, where fans of the LEGO sets get to see their favorite characters and follow their adventures.
